What is MyLife?

MyLife has been developed by Telford & Wrekin Council's Adult Social Service, in conjunction with voluntary and partner organisations, to provide you with information, advice and guidance about local services and organisations that can support you to maintain your lifestyle and independence. The website allows you can print the information you find, email it or create an account and save it so that you can come back to it later. The site is maintained by Telford & Wrekin Council and is regularly updated. If you spot any inaccuracies or broken links, please use site feedback.

How do I give feedback on MyLife?

You can give us your feedback by visiting our site feedback page.  Please let us know if you think the information you are looking at is incorrect, there are broken links or there are topics you would like us to cover.

How can I make a page easier to read?

If you are finding it difficult to see the information on this website and on the external sites we link to, there are a number of things you can do.

To make the words on a web page bigger you can use the text sizing buttons (the 3, orange letter As) at the top of the page.

The BBC website My Web My Way has tips for people with sight or hearing problems or who find it difficult to use a mouse or keyboard. It shows you how you can change your browser, computer, keyboard and mouse settings to make the internet more accessible for you.

Using the Search Box

The search box is located at the top of the MyLife homepage.

You can search by typing in what you are looking for, service names, postcodes or town.

The results will then be filtered by what you are looking for.

To change your search, just retype different words relating to the subject you are looking for in to the search box.

Using the Directory

If you want to find services or organisations that could help you, click on the different buttons in the Directory section. You can view the entries on the results page or choose to view all records. You can filter the results by keyword or postcode.

If you want to read about a topic in more depth you can use our 'Find out more' links which are full of ideas about the choices and support available to you.

Guides

Guides allow you to build information sheets about your needs.

By answering the questions in the guide, it will create an information sheet with a list of services that are available to help you and details about how you can contact them.

You can save the information sheets to My Pad, My account, your computer, email them to someone or print them off.

What is MyPad?

MyPad will let you save the information you have found on MyLife. You can click on the purple disk icon to save the services that you have found, you can add your own notes and then click Add button and this will save it If you have an account the information and notes will be saved to your account and will stay there until you choose to delete them. If you do not have an account the information will only remain in MyPad for the time that you are using the website.

What is my account?

If you want to save the information to look at again in the future you will need to create an account. This takes just a few minutes and all you need to set up an account is an email address. When you have completed the online registration, an account activation code will be sent immediately to the email address you have given. Simply type this into the box on the registration page and your account is ready to use.

Do I need an account to use MyLife?

No, you do not need to create an account. You will be able to use the website to find information, and save it as you go along using the "Add to MyPad" button. Anything saved on MyPad will be lost when you finish your session on MyLife. If you want to save the information to look at again in the future you will need to create an account. This takes just a few minutes and all you need to set up an account is an email address.

What do I do if I cannot activate my account?

Open the e-mail sent to you when your account was created and click the link in the e-mail. If this does not activate your account, note down the Activation Code and go back to My Account on the MyLife website. Enter your username and password, then enter the code and click on the Activate button. Your account should now be activated.

What do I do if I cannot log into my account?

Check you are using the correct username confirmed in the validation email sent when you set up your account. If you have forgotten your password or it does not work with your username, please  request a new password.

How do I change my personal details?

Log into your account and click on "Change Personal Details" in the box on the right hand side of the screen. Update your details and click the "Save" button.
